The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723835 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the CCMT insert style with an 80-degree diamond shape, this insert is finished with a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN for extended wear resistance and thermal stability. The neutral hand orientation suits a wide range of toolholder setups. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and the WF chip breaker geometry, it delivers controlled chip formation at moderate to high cutting speeds. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible screw-lock toolholders as part of routine insert rotation or replacement cycles.
This insert belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series and is rated for primary use on steel workpieces (ISO material group P) and secondary use on stainless steel (ISO material group M). It is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are required. The WF chip breaker geometry is optimized for lighter depths of cut and lower feed rates typical of finishing operations. The ISO code CCMT09T304WF1515 provides cross-reference compatibility when sourcing across multiple suppliers or toolholder catalogs.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamp toolholders accepting CCMT-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. ISO code CCMT09T304WF1515 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder pockets. Intended for steel and stainless steel workpiece materials per ISO groups P and M.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Disengage machine power and bring the spindle to a full stop before rotating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver to seat the clamping screw to manufacturer-specified torque per the toolholder documentation — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Verify insert pocket seating and edge orientation before resuming cutting operations.
