The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723822 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the CCMW32.51FP geometry, part of the CoroTurn 107 series. Designated grade CD10, this insert is engineered for precision turning of non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys, copper, and similar materials where sharp cutting edges and a bright, uncoated surface are essential to surface finish and dimensional control. It features an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.0156-inch corner radius. The FP chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during light-to-medium passes. Installed via screw-holding method, this insert suits CNC turning centers operated by machining professionals.
This insert is intended for turning operations on non-ferrous workpiece materials, consistent with ISO material group N. The CoroTurn 107 series is a screw-clamped insert platform commonly used on external turning and profiling operations. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and an insert thickness of 5/32 inch, this insert fits toolholders designed for the CCMW insert style with the corresponding seat geometry. The neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both right-hand and left-hand toolholder configurations that accept neutral inserts.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting CCMW-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle seat. ISO designation for this insert is CCMW09T304FP CD10. Intended for machining non-ferrous metals (ISO material group N).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage — refer to the toolholder manufacturer specification for screw torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination affects dimensional accuracy and insert life.
