The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723791 is a straight-shank indexable insert drill designed for precision hole-making in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built on the CoroDrill 880 series platform, it accepts two indexable inserts in a compatible A880..LXxx-02 drill style and delivers a maximum drill diameter of 1.1644 inches (28.57 mm) with a 2xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The steel body construction provides rigidity during high-feed drilling operations. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and insert life in demanding cuts. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians working with CNC machining centers and drill presses requiring reliable, repeatable indexable tooling.
The 5723791 is suited for production drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where consistent hole quality and fast insert changeout matter. The straight cylindrical shank with a 1.25 inch diameter mounts directly into standard toolholders and collet chucks. With a maximum drill depth of 2.385 inches and a flute length of 3.0993 inches, it handles through-hole and blind-hole applications in the 2xD depth range. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. This drill body is a shop-floor tool for job shops, production lines, and maintenance machining departments requiring a proven indexable platform.
Designed for use with A880..LXxx-02 compatible indexable drill inserts sized at 0.1181 inches (3.00 mm). Fits standard straight-cylindrical toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 1.25 inch shank diameter.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with indexable drilling systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or changing inserts. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque range using appropriate toolholder hardware. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and coolant pressure is set per the machine tool specifications before running the first cut.
