The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a UM chip breaker geometry, and a neutral hand orientation. With an inscribed circle of 0.3750 inches and a corner radius of 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch), it suits precision finishing and semi-finishing passes. This insert is intended for steel (ISO material code P) as its primary workpiece material and stainless steel (ISO code M) as its secondary application. It fits screw-clamped toolholders that accept CCMT-style inserts with a 0.1732-inch hole diameter. The CoroTurn 107 series is widely used in production turning centers and CNC lathes where consistent chip control and predictable tool life are required. ISO insert code CCMT 09 T3 08-UM 235 should be used to verify toolholder seating and geometry match before installation.
Insert replacement and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop, spindle off, and all axis motion locked out per the machine tool lockout/tagout procedure. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturers specified torque — do not over-torque or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Verify the ISO geometry code and chip breaker designation against the toolholder specification sheet before starting a new tool path.
