The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723344 is an indexable insert drill designed for high-productivity hole-making in metal fabrication and machining operations. Built to the CoroDrill 880 series standard, this drill body accepts two indexable inserts in the A880..LXxx-02 drill style configuration. It delivers a maximum drill diameter of 1.3209 inches (31.75 mm) and a maximum drill depth of 2.65 inches at a 2xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The steel body is engineered for rigidity and repeat accuracy in CNC turning centers and machining centers. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding drilling cycles. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on production and job-shop equipment.
This drill body is suited for use in production machining environments where indexable tooling is used in place of solid carbide or brazed-tip drills. The straight cylindrical shank with a 1.5 inch diameter mounts directly into standard ER, hydraulic, or shrink-fit toolholders sized for that bore. The 2xD ratio makes it appropriate for through-hole and shallow blind-hole applications in steel, cast iron, and similar materials where a controlled depth and good chip control are required. Insert size is 0.1378 inches (3.50 mm).
Compatible with A880..LXxx-02 drill style indexable inserts with an insert size of 0.1378 inches (3.50 mm). Designed for use in CNC machining centers and turning centers equipped with toolholders accepting a 1.5 inch straight cylindrical shank bore.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully de-energized and the machine is in a safe state before mounting or changing inserts. Verify toolholder bore size matches the 1.5 inch shank diameter and that the tool is secured to the recommended clamping torque specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Confirm coolant-through passages are clear and coolant pressure is within the machine and toolholder specifications before initiating a cutting cycle.
