The SAIT 51036 is a resinoid-bonded aluminum oxide fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and rough surfaces. Built on a fiber backing, this disc mounts via a 7/8-inch arbor hole and is rated for a maximum speed of 11,000 RPM. At 36 grit, it falls in the very coarse range, making it well suited for rapid stock removal, rust stripping, and surface prep work where finish quality is secondary to speed. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators rely on discs like this when angle grinder work demands durability and consistent cut rate through full disc life.
This fiber disc is used across metal fabrication shops, structural steel work, pipeline welding prep, and general ironwork applications. The 4-1/2-inch diameter fits standard right-angle grinders common to HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in, and welding trades. The Series 2A designation indicates this is a production-grade coated abrasive. Discs in this configuration are typically paired with a rubber backing pad and arbor nut for secure mounting. Sold in a package quantity of 100, this SKU is suited for shop stocking or job site supply where high disc consumption is expected.
Designed for use with 4-1/2-inch right-angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor hole attachment. Requires a compatible rubber backing pad and arbor nut, sold separately.
Installation and disc changes must be performed with the grinder unplugged or the battery removed. Always inspect the disc for cracks or damage before mounting. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield rated for grinding operations. Maximum RPM of the grinder must not exceed the 11,000 RPM disc rating.
