The RWC UC518LFA is a 3/4-inch barb brass PEX test plug designed to cap off an open PEX tubing line during pressure testing or system commissioning. Constructed from brass, this plug installs into standard PEX barb fittings without soldering, crimping tools, or open flame. It is compatible with both stainless steel clamp systems and copper crimp ring systems, giving plumbers flexibility on the job. The UC518LFA meets ASTM F1807 and NSF/ANSI 61 standards, including NSF 372 low-lead compliance, making it suitable for potable water applications. Plumbers and hydronic heating installers reach for this plug when they need a fast, reliable, and low-cost way to isolate or terminate a line.
The UC518LFA is used in residential and light commercial potable water distribution systems as well as hydronic heating installations. It fits PEX tubing lines where a temporary or permanent end cap is needed at a 3/4-inch barb connection point. Whether sealing off an unused port during rough-in or capping a line for a pressure test, this plug works with the clamp or crimp ring system already on the job. Clamp rings and crimp rings are each sold separately.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch PEX tubing in potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. Compatible with both stainless steel clamp systems and copper crimp ring systems (each sold separately).
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified hydronic heating technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing any PEX fitting. Seat the barb fully into the PEX tubing before applying the clamp or crimp ring using the appropriate tool per the ring manufacturer's instructions. Verify the connection is leak-free before restoring system pressure.
