The RWC UC248LFA10 is a 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch barb 90-degree elbow fitting — commonly called a quarter bend — manufactured from lead-free DZR brass. Sold as a 10-pack, this fitting is designed to connect PEX tubing at a right angle in potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems. The lead-free DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass construction meets NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF 372 standards, making it suitable for drinking water contact. Licensed plumbers and PEX installers reach for this fitting when a clean 90-degree directional change is needed without soldering or specialty tooling.
This elbow is appropriate for residential and light commercial PEX installations, including domestic hot and cold water supply lines and closed-loop hydronic heating circuits. The barb-style connection works with both stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems, giving installers flexibility to use whichever tool and ring type they already carry. Clamp rings and crimp rings are sold separately. The fitting complies with ASTM F1807, confirming dimensional and performance standards for PEX barb fittings.
Compatible with 1/2 inch PEX tubing in potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. Designed for use with stainless steel clamp ring systems or copper crimp ring systems (each sold separately), per ASTM F1807 specifications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified PEX installer. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or fitting. Use a calibrated PEX clamp tool for stainless steel rings or a PEX crimp tool with a go/no-go gauge for copper crimp rings to ensure a leak-free connection. Verify that local plumbing codes, including IPC requirements, permit barb-style fittings for the intended application before roughing in.
