The RWC U710A is a plastic disconnect clip designed for use with SharkBite push-to-connect fittings. The clip releases the fitting's internal collet, allowing the fitting to be removed from copper, CPVC, or PEX tubing without cutting the pipe. It is a small but essential service tool kept on hand by plumbers and pipefitters working with push-to-connect systems in residential and light commercial plumbing. The clip is individually bagged and sized for 1/2 inch SharkBite fittings.
This disconnect clip is used wherever a SharkBite push-to-connect fitting needs to be repositioned or removed during rough-in or service work. Common applications include potable water supply lines, hydronic systems, and other piping runs where SharkBite fittings have been installed. The clip allows fittings to be released quickly without damaging the pipe or fitting body, making it a practical item for service calls and repair work.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch SharkBite push-to-connect fittings as stated by the manufacturer.
Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disconnecting any push-to-connect fitting. Insert the disconnect clip around the pipe at the fitting collar, press it firmly against the fitting body to depress the collet, then pull the pipe free. Plumbers should follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements when modifying or repairing water supply piping.
