The RWC u2008-0000lf is a lead-free, spring-loaded check valve designed to prevent reverse flow of water in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. It uses a push-to-connect SharkBite-style fitting on both ends, allowing a licensed plumber or experienced pipefitter to complete the connection without soldering, clamps, or union fittings. The valve accepts 1/2-inch pipe on both the inlet and outlet sides. Its spring-loaded internal mechanism closes automatically when flow reverses, protecting upstream equipment and supply lines from backflow contamination.
This check valve is suited for potable water supply lines in residential and commercial plumbing applications. The push-to-connect ends are compatible with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and SDR-9 HDPE pipe, making it a versatile option across new construction and retrofit work. Its compact body fits in tight chases, utility closets, and wall cavities where swing-check or inline threaded valves would be difficult to service. It can be installed in any orientation, horizontal or vertical, without affecting function.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation check valve for 1/2-inch PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and SDR-9 HDPE potable water supply lines using push-to-connect fittings.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting into any existing pipe. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and free of debris before inserting into the push-to-connect fitting to achieve a proper seal. Verify local plumbing code compliance, including IPC and applicable backflow prevention requirements, before finalizing the installation.
