The RUUD 47-102290-01 is a high pressure limit switch with auto reset, designed for use in residential split-system air conditioning equipment. Rated at 125 VA at 24 VAC and 375 VA at 120/277 VAC pilot duty, this switch opens at 610 psi and closes at 420 psi to protect the refrigerant circuit from dangerously high head pressure conditions. The 18 AWG lead wire connects into the low-voltage control circuit, and the 1/4 inch flare screw-on fitting allows for direct installation on the high-side refrigerant line without a capillary tube. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component during routine service or system repair.
This high pressure limit switch is intended for residential air conditioning applications where high-side refrigerant pressure monitoring is required. It is specified for use on the RUUD RA17 air conditioner series. The auto reset function automatically restores the circuit once system pressure drops back within the safe operating range, eliminating the need for manual reset during normal cycling events. It is mounted directly on the high-side refrigerant line using the 1/4 inch flare connection.
Designed for use on the RUUD RA17 air conditioner series as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical and refrigeration codes. Recover refrigerant and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any high-side pressure control to prevent injury. Connect lead wires into the low-voltage control circuit following the equipment wiring diagram. Verify all flare fittings are leak-free before recharging the system.
