The RUST-OLEUM 9465402 is a two-component, high-gloss polyester urethane topcoat engineered for maximum corrosion resistance in severe service environments. Supplied in a 1-gallon container in red with a gloss finish, this coating is part of the 9400 System and requires a separately ordered activator before application. It delivers ultra-high gloss retention alongside strong resistance to impact, abrasion, and aggressive chemicals including muriatic acid. Licensed painters, industrial coating contractors, and maintenance professionals apply this product in facilities and field environments where standard topcoats fall short.
This coating is intended for use on vehicles, structural steel, storage tanks, and similar substrates exposed to severe coastal, offshore, or chemically aggressive conditions. The 9400 System is also accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities and meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact, making it suitable for processing plant infrastructure and food-adjacent equipment. It is a finish coat within the 9400 System and is designed to be applied over compatible 9400 System primers.
Designed for use within the RUST-OLEUM 9400 System. Recommended for use over 9400 System Primers and compatible with 9400 System Accelerator and 9400 System Leveling Additive. Activator must be ordered separately.
Application should be performed by qualified painting contractors or industrial maintenance professionals following the product data sheet and applicable safety regulations. Ensure the substrate is properly primed with a compatible 9400 System primer and that all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of contamination before topcoat application. Mix the base color and activator components thoroughly per the manufacturer ratio before spraying or rolling. Use adequate ventilation and appropriate respiratory protection during application and curing.
