The RUST-OLEUM 9401402 is the activator component for the Rust-Oleum 9400 System High Performance High Gloss Polyester Urethane, a two-component topcoat engineered for severe corrosion environments. This activator is ordered separately from the 9400 System base color and must be combined with it to produce a catalyzed urethane finish. The cured coating delivers extremely high gloss retention alongside strong resistance to impact, abrasion, and aggressive chemicals including muriatic acid. It is used by industrial painting contractors, marine coating specialists, and facility maintenance professionals working in coastal, offshore, and chemically aggressive settings. The unit weighs 9.43 pounds per gallon container.
This activator is intended for use in demanding industrial and marine applications including vehicles, structural steel, tanks, and similar substrates exposed to severe coastal or offshore environments. The 9400 System is also accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities and meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact, making it a viable option for food processing and agricultural facility maintenance projects where corrosion protection and regulatory compliance are both required.
Designed for use as the activator component within the Rust-Oleum 9400 System. Recommended for use with 9400 System Primers, 9400 System Accelerator, and 9400 System Leveling Additive. Order base color component separately.
Application should be performed by qualified industrial coating contractors or maintenance painters familiar with two-component urethane systems. Mix activator and base color in the correct ratio per the product data sheet before application. Follow all local and federal VOC regulations and ventilation requirements when applying catalyzed urethane coatings. Ensure all surfaces are properly primed and prepared before topcoat application.
