The RUST-OLEUM 9102300 is the 5-gallon Immersion Activator for the 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic, a two-component, direct-to-metal epoxy coating engineered for heavy-duty corrosion protection. This activator is paired with the 9100 System base coat at a 1:1 mixing ratio and is formulated specifically for steel or concrete surfaces exposed to fresh or salt water immersion at temperatures up to 125 degrees F. Licensed coating applicators, industrial painters, and maintenance trade professionals install this product in demanding wet environments. It delivers long-term resistance to solvents, chemicals, abrasion, and impact in a single-coat application.
The Immersion Activator is suited for floor-coating applications and submerged steel or concrete structures where prolonged water contact is expected. It is appropriate for use in both fresh and salt water environments, provided water temperatures remain at or below 125 degrees F. This activator is not approved for use in potable water tanks. It produces a slightly lower gloss finish compared to the standard 9100 System activator. The 9100 System is a self-priming formulation that adheres to a variety of substrates, reducing prep steps on eligible surfaces. This activator is sold separately from the 9100 System base color component.
Designed for use exclusively with the RUST-OLEUM 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic base coat. Suitable for steel and concrete substrates in fresh or salt water immersion service. Not for use in potable water tanks.
Mix the activator with the 9100 System base coat at a 1:1 ratio before application; no additional measuring is required. This product is a two-component coating system — order the base color component separately. Surface and air temperatures should be within the range supported by this activator formulation, and surfaces must be properly cleaned and prepared before coating. Follow applicable safety data sheet guidance and local VOC regulations when mixing and applying solvent-borne epoxy coatings.
