The RUST-OLEUM 214430 is the Immersion Activator component for the 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic, a two-component, direct-to-metal (DTM) protective coating system. This activator is combined at a 1:1 ratio with the 9100 base coat to produce a tough, chemically resistant finish suited for steel and concrete surfaces exposed to fresh or salt water immersion. Water temperatures at the immersion site must not exceed 125 degrees F. The cured film delivers strong resistance to solvents, chemicals, abrasion, and impact. Licensed contractors and industrial coating applicators are the primary installers of this system.
This immersion-grade activator is formulated for submerged or wet-environment applications on steel or concrete substrates, including floor-coating scenarios where standing water or immersion conditions are present. It is not approved for use in potable water tanks. The finish produced is gloss but yields a slightly lower sheen than the standard activator option. Air and surface temperatures during application must be between 50 degrees F and 100 degrees F. The 9100 system meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities.
Designed for use as the immersion activator component of the RUST-OLEUM 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic two-component coating system. The base color component must be ordered separately.
This product must be applied by a qualified coating contractor or industrial painter familiar with two-component epoxy systems. Mix only as much material as can be applied within the pot life of the combined system. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and properly prepared before application. Follow all local VOC regulations and applicable safety data sheet guidelines for ventilation and personal protective equipment.
