The RUST-OLEUM 200031 is a waterborne diamond polyurethane wood finish formulated for interior wood surfaces. It lays down a crystal-clear, gloss sheen that resists scuffs, scratches, and household chemicals once cured. The low-odor, water-based formula cleans up with soap and water, making it practical for occupied spaces such as residences, offices, and retail environments. This gallon size is suited for larger flooring and millwork projects where coverage and finish consistency matter. Woodworkers, finish carpenters, and flooring contractors reach for this product when a durable, clear protective coat is required over stained or natural wood.
This finish is applied to interior wood surfaces including hardwood floors, furniture, cabinetry, trim, and millwork. Its waterborne chemistry keeps ambient odor low during application, which is useful in occupied or poorly ventilated interiors. The gloss formulation delivers a high-clarity, reflective surface that enhances the natural appearance of wood grain. It is not intended for exterior use or surfaces subject to prolonged moisture exposure.
Designed as an interior wood finish compatible with hardwood floors, furniture, cabinetry, and trim. Suitable for use over bare, stained, or previously finished interior wood surfaces that have been properly prepared and are clean and dry.
Application is typically performed by finish carpenters, flooring contractors, or experienced woodworkers using a high-quality synthetic brush, foam applicator, or lambswool applicator. Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and sanded before application, and allow adequate dry time between coats per label directions. Work in a well-ventilated area even with low-odor formulas, and keep the area free of foot traffic until the finish has fully cured. Do not apply over wax-based finishes without proper surface preparation.
