The RTI RTI-CB8 is an installation accessory that provides power connections for up to eight in-wall keypads, touchpanels, and other RTI devices. Beyond distributing power, the RTI-CB8 consolidates and routes infrared outputs from multiple touchpanels into a single output for connection to an RTI control processor. This keeps wiring organized and reduces the number of termination points at the processor. It is typically installed by low-voltage technicians and AV integration professionals during rough-in or trim-out phases of a control system installation.
The RTI-CB8 is suited for residential and light commercial control system installations where multiple in-wall RTI devices are deployed across a single zone or room. It eliminates the need to individually home-run power to each device, simplifying the overall wiring scheme. Integrators working on RTI-based automation systems will find this block particularly useful when consolidating infrared signal paths alongside power distribution in a centralized wiring panel or equipment rack.
Designed for use with RTI in-wall keypads, touchpanels, and other RTI devices that connect to an RTI control processor.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage technician familiar with RTI control systems. Power down the control system and all connected devices before making any wiring connections to the block. Verify that the total number of connected devices does not exceed the eight-device capacity of the block. Follow all applicable low-voltage wiring codes and the RTI system documentation for proper IR output termination at the control processor.
