The ROYAL BUILDING PRODUCTS 35-1614 is a 6-inch sewer and drain gas plug used to temporarily seal pipe openings during rough-in inspections and pressure testing. The plug blocks airflow and gas migration through open drain lines, allowing plumbers to verify system integrity before final connections are made. It is a standard consumable in residential and commercial plumbing rough-in work, used by licensed plumbers and pipefitters on new construction and remodel projects.
This gas plug is suited for 6-inch sewer and drain piping applications. It is typically deployed during DWV (drain-waste-vent) system pressure tests, where individual pipe ends must be sealed to hold test pressure. The plug is also used to prevent sewer gas from entering a structure through open pipe ends during the construction phase.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting accessory for use with 6-inch sewer and drain piping systems in residential and commercial DWV installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber during the rough-in or inspection phase of construction. Ensure all upstream flow is shut off and the pipe section is depressurized before inserting or removing the plug. Follow local plumbing code requirements, including IPC guidelines, for test pressure limits and duration. Remove the plug before the system is placed into service.
