The ROTOR CLIP TX-56ST PA is an external self-locking retaining ring designed to secure components on shafts without requiring a groove. Manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 steel with a phosphate finish, this ring seats on a 9/16-inch (0.5625 inch) shaft diameter and delivers a thrust load capacity of 127 pounds. The 12-prong design bites into the shaft surface to resist both axial and rotational displacement, making it a reliable fastening solution in assemblies where groove machining is not practical. Licensed machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers install this type of ring across a broad range of light-to-medium industrial and mechanical applications.
This retaining ring is suited for use in assemblies where an external groove is unavailable or undesirable. Typical installation scenarios include shaft-mounted gears, pulleys, collars, and bearing assemblies in motors, pumps, and general mechanical equipment. The phosphate finish provides a baseline level of corrosion resistance appropriate for controlled indoor environments. The ring meets SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 fastener standards and is manufactured in compliance with ISO 13485:2015 quality management requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style external self-locking retaining ring for shafts in the 9/16-inch diameter range, suitable for mechanical assemblies where groove-type retaining rings are not applicable.
Installation and removal of self-locking retaining rings should be performed using appropriate retaining ring pliers to avoid deforming the prongs or the ring body. De-energize and lock out all equipment before servicing any rotating shaft assembly. Do not reuse a ring that has been removed, as repeated installation cycles reduce prong grip force. Follow applicable machinery safety standards and the equipment manufacturer's assembly procedures when specifying thrust load requirements.
