The ROTOR CLIP SH-68ST PA B100 is an external snap retaining ring designed to secure components on a shaft by seating in a precision-machined groove. It fits an 11/16 inch (0.6875 inches) shaft diameter with a groove diameter of 0.646 inches. Manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 spring steel with a phosphate finish, the ring delivers high hardness (66-71 HRC) and reliable corrosion resistance for industrial and mechanical assembly applications. The ring measures 0.042 inches in thickness and 0.046 inches in groove width. It is used by mechanical technicians, maintenance professionals, and precision assembly trades across a wide range of industries.
This external retaining ring is suited for shaft-mounted assemblies where a low-profile, axial retention solution is required. Typical applications include motors, pumps, gearboxes, actuators, and other rotating or reciprocating shaft assemblies found in commercial and industrial equipment. The phosphate finish helps with break-in lubrication and mild corrosion protection in service environments where exposure to moisture or wear is a concern. The part meets SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 standards and is also manufactured in conformance with ISO 13485:2015 quality management requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style external snap retaining ring for shaft assemblies requiring an 11/16 inch (0.6875 inch) shaft diameter and a 0.646 inch groove diameter, conforming to SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 specifications.
External snap retaining rings are installed and removed by qualified mechanical technicians using external snap ring pliers sized appropriately for the ring diameter. Always relieve shaft load and de-energize or lock out any connected equipment before servicing shaft-mounted components. Verify groove dimensions match the specified tolerances before installation to ensure proper seating and axial retention. Rings should not be over-expanded during installation, as this can compromise the spring temper and reduce retention force.
