The ROTOR CLIP SH-137ST MCD is an external retaining ring designed to secure components on shafts in assemblies where axial retention is required. Manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 spring steel (UNS G10600-G10900) with a cadmium-plated finish, this ring seats in a machined external groove on a 1.375-inch diameter shaft. The groove diameter is 1.291 inches with a ring thickness of 0.050 inches. Hardness is rated at 47-52 HRC, providing the spring tension needed to maintain a firm seat under load. Mechanical assemblers, maintenance technicians, and industrial tradespeople install this type of ring during shaft-and-bearing or shaft-and-gear assembly operations.
This retaining ring is suited for use in mechanical power transmission, rotating shaft assemblies, pump and motor shafts, and similar industrial applications requiring a low-profile external groove fastener. The cadmium plating provides corrosion resistance in environments where bare steel is insufficient. The ring meets Military Specification MS 16624-1137 and ISO 13485:2015 standards, making it appropriate for both general industrial and regulated-industry assembly applications. Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style external retaining ring for 1.375-inch diameter shafts with a 1.291-inch groove diameter machined to standard external groove specifications per SAE 1060-1090 and MS 16624-1137.
External retaining rings of this type are installed and removed by mechanical assemblers or maintenance technicians using retaining ring pliers sized for external rings. The shaft assembly should be de-energized and de-pressurized before service. Ensure the groove is clean and free of burrs before seating the ring to avoid improper seating or ring distortion. Do not over-spread the ring during installation, as exceeding the elastic limit will permanently deform the ring and compromise retention.
