The ROTOR CLIP SE-98SS B100 is an external E style retaining ring engineered for precision shaft retention applications. Machined from 15-7 stainless steel to AMS-5529 and UNS S15700 standards, this ring delivers high hardness in the 44 to 51 HRC range, making it suitable for demanding mechanical environments where corrosion resistance and strength are both required. It fits a 63/64 inch (0.984 inch) shaft diameter with a groove diameter of 0.835 inches. The three-prong E style design allows for tool-based installation and removal without full shaft disassembly, a key advantage in maintenance-intensive assemblies. Licensed HVAC technicians, millwrights, and mechanical contractors typically specify this ring in rotating assemblies, motor shafts, and actuator components.
This retaining ring is used in industrial and commercial mechanical assemblies where a removable external fastener is needed to secure components on a shaft. The E style configuration is common in motor and pump shaft assemblies, valve actuators, and precision rotating equipment. Its stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for wet, corrosive, or sanitary environments including HVAC coil assemblies, pump mechanisms, and fluid-handling equipment. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.
Designed for use on shafts with a 63/64 inch (0.984 inch) diameter and a groove width of 0.056 inches. Consult shaft and groove dimensional tolerances before specifying; groove diameter must fall within 0.835 to 0.838 inches for proper seating.
Installation and removal of E style retaining rings requires appropriate retaining ring pliers or an E ring tool to avoid deforming the prongs or over-stressing the ring. Power down and de-energize any motor or rotating assembly before servicing shaft-mounted components. Inspect the shaft groove for burrs or dimensional nonconformance before installing the ring. Reuse of retaining rings that show deformation, cracking, or corrosion is not recommended.
