The ROTOR CLIP SE-14ST ZD is an external E style retaining ring designed for small-shaft fastening applications requiring a low-profile, three-prong clip profile. Manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 steel with a yellow zinc dichromate finish, it fits a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) shaft diameter and seats into a 0.102 inch groove diameter. Ring thickness is 0.015 inches, and the free outside diameter measures 0.203 inches. Licensed electricians, millwrights, HVAC technicians, and mechanical assemblers use E style rings where axial retention is needed on small-diameter shafts without requiring a standard circlip groove profile. Hardness is rated at 66.5-71 HR30N.
This retaining ring is suited for use in compact rotating assemblies, motor shafts, linkage pins, and light-duty fastening points found in HVAC equipment, plumbing valve assemblies, and general mechanical systems. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 100 units, making it appropriate for service stock, maintenance kits, or assembly-line replenishment. The three-prong E style design allows tool-free or plier-assisted installation and removal in tight-clearance applications.
Designed as an OEM-style external E style retaining ring for 9/64 inch diameter shafts with a 0.102 inch groove diameter, suitable for use in mechanical assemblies across HVAC, plumbing, and general industrial equipment.
E style retaining rings are typically installed and removed by millwrights, HVAC technicians, or mechanical assemblers using external retaining ring pliers or snap ring pliers sized for small-diameter applications. Before servicing any assembly containing this ring, de-energize the equipment and follow applicable lockout-tagout procedures. Confirm groove diameter and groove width match the shaft specification before installation to ensure proper retention. Avoid over-spreading the ring during installation, as permanent deformation will compromise retention force.
