The ROTOR CLIP HO-162SS B100 is a stainless steel internal snap retaining ring designed to seat in a machined groove inside a bore and retain components axially within an assembly. The ring is manufactured from 15-7 grade 632 stainless steel, giving it strong corrosion resistance and high hardness in the Rockwell C 44-51 range. It fits a 1.625-inch bore diameter, has a free outer diameter of 1.804 inches, and carries a groove safety factor thrust load capacity of 6900 pounds and a ring safety factor of 14413 pounds. Maintenance technicians, millwrights, and mechanical assemblers install this type of ring wherever a reliable internal retainer is needed in pumps, motors, gearboxes, and similar rotating or reciprocating equipment.
This internal retaining ring is suited for industrial and commercial mechanical assemblies where a 1.625-inch bore is present and an axial retention solution is required. Typical applications include pump housings, electric motor end bells, hydraulic cylinder bores, and gearbox housings where a permanent or semi-permanent groove-seated retainer is specified. The 15-7 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for environments with moisture, mild chemicals, or other conditions that would corrode carbon steel rings.
Designed as an OEM-style internal retaining ring for mechanical assemblies requiring a 1.625-inch bore diameter groove-seated snap ring in stainless steel.
Installation is performed by millwrights, maintenance mechanics, or assemblers using internal snap ring pliers sized for the ring diameter. De-energize and lock out all equipment before disassembly or ring installation per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify groove dimensions against the specified groove width and depth before installation to ensure proper ring seating and load capacity. Do not reuse a ring that has been over-expanded or shows visible distortion.
