The ROTOR CLIP HO-137SS MPS is a stainless steel internal snap retaining ring designed to secure components within a bored housing or bore. It seats into a machined groove and provides axial retention without the need for threaded fasteners or additional hardware. Manufactured from 15-7 Grade 632 stainless steel with a Rockwell C hardness of 44-51, it delivers strong corrosion resistance and high thrust load capacity. The ring carries a thrust load capacity of 5,050 pounds at the groove safety factor and 9,846 pounds at the ring safety factor. Ring thickness is 1.27mm (0.05 inches) and groove width is 1.42mm (0.056 inches). This part meets military specifications and is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers across industrial and defense applications.
The HO-137SS MPS is suited for use in precision assemblies where a 1.375-inch bore diameter is present and corrosion resistance or military-specification compliance is required. Typical applications include hydraulic components, rotating shaft assemblies, pumps, gearboxes, and other mechanical subassemblies found in industrial, marine, and military equipment. Its stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for wet, chemical-exposed, or high-humidity environments where carbon steel rings would be unsuitable. This ring ships individually but has a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
Designed as an OEM-style internal snap retaining ring for mechanical assemblies requiring a 1.375-inch bore diameter groove. Compatible with applications governed by military specifications MS 16625-4037, MS 16625-4050, MS 16625-4062, MS 16625-4075, MS 16625-4087, MS 16625-4100, MS 16625-4125, MS 16625-4137, MS 16625-4150, MS 16625-4162, and MS 16625-4187.
Internal snap rings of this type are installed using internal snap ring pliers sized for the ring diameter. Ensure the housing bore groove dimensions match the specified groove width and depth before installation. De-energize or depressurize any assembly before disassembling components to access the retention groove. Do not over-expand the ring during installation, as exceeding the elastic limit can permanently deform the ring and reduce retention force.
