The ROTOR CLIP E-9ST ZD is an external E style retaining ring designed to secure components on a 3/32-inch (0.0938 inch) shaft. The ring is manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 stainless steel with a yellow zinc dichromate finish, providing corrosion resistance in demanding environments. It features a three-prong design that snaps into a machined groove on the shaft outside diameter, holding axial position without the need for threads or welding. The ring measures 0.015 inches thick with a free outside diameter of 0.187 inches. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and assembly professionals install this hardware in precision mechanical assemblies.
This retaining ring is suited for light-duty shaft retention applications found in small mechanical assemblies, instrumentation, motors, and precision equipment. The compact dimensions make it appropriate for use in tight-clearance designs where standard snap rings or circlips would not fit. The zinc dichromate finish adds a layer of protection against oxidation in shop and field environments. This part meets SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 standards and is also manufactured in compliance with ISO 13485:2015 quality management requirements.
Designed for use on shafts with a 3/32-inch diameter and a machined external groove measuring 0.074 inches in groove diameter, 0.020 inches in groove width, and 0.010 inches in groove depth, per SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 specifications.
Installation and removal of E style retaining rings requires appropriate retaining ring pliers to avoid distorting the prongs or over-stressing the ring. Always power down and de-energize any equipment before servicing shaft assemblies. Inspect the shaft groove for burrs or damage before seating the ring, as an out-of-tolerance groove can cause the ring to unseat under load. Follow applicable machinery safety and maintenance codes for the equipment being serviced.
