The ROTOR CLIP E-75SS MPS is an external E style retaining ring designed to seat in a machined groove on a 3/4 inch shaft and provide positive axial retention without the need for threading or welding. Manufactured from 15-7 stainless steel (Grade 632) to AMS-5529 and UNS S15700 specifications, the ring delivers corrosion resistance and high spring-back force in demanding environments. With a hardness range of 37 to 43 HRC and a passivated finish, it handles elevated stress applications where standard carbon steel rings are not suitable. The three-prong E style design allows for tool-free or pliers-assisted installation from the side of the shaft without full disassembly of the assembly.
This retaining ring is used in industrial machinery, precision motion assemblies, pumps, and shaft-and-bearing systems where a removable, reusable axial stop is required. The E style configuration is common in light- to medium-duty applications where groove access from the shaft end is restricted. It is appropriate for use in fluid-handling equipment, instrumentation, and any assembly requiring a corrosion-resistant fastening solution. Licensed machinists, millwrights, and mechanical assembly technicians are the typical installers.
Designed for use in machined grooves on 3/4 inch diameter shafts with a groove diameter of 0.580 inches, groove width of 0.056 inches, and groove depth of 0.085 inches. Meets Military Specification MS 16633-4075.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified mechanic or assembly technician using E ring applicator pliers or equivalent tooling. De-energize or lock out all power sources and relieve any system pressure before accessing shaft assemblies. Inspect the shaft groove for burrs or damage before seating the ring to avoid improper engagement. Do not reuse rings that show signs of deformation, cracking, or loss of spring tension.
