The ROTOR CLIP E-25ST ZD is an external E style retaining ring designed for 1/4 inch (0.250 inch) diameter shafts. It seats in a 0.210 inch groove diameter and is manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 stainless steel with a yellow zinc dichromate finish for corrosion resistance. The ring measures 0.025 inches thick and provides a free outside diameter of 0.527 inches. Its three-prong E style profile allows for fast side-loading installation without special tooling in most applications. Maintenance technicians, machinists, and assembly professionals use this ring to retain components on shafts where axial movement must be controlled.
This retaining ring is suited for light-duty shaft retention in mechanical assemblies across industrial, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment manufacturing or field repair contexts. The compact 1/4 inch shaft size makes it common in motors, pumps, valves, and small-diameter drive assemblies. The zinc dichromate finish provides a baseline level of corrosion protection appropriate for indoor or protected outdoor environments. This part ships individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 100 units, making it appropriate for shop stock, maintenance kits, or production use.
Designed for use on 1/4 inch diameter shafts with a groove diameter of 0.210 inches and groove width of 0.029 inches per SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 specifications. Verify groove dimensions against shaft specifications before installation.
Installation and removal should be performed using retaining ring pliers appropriate for E style external rings to avoid deforming the prongs or damaging the groove. Power down and de-energize any equipment before servicing components retained by this ring. Do not reuse a ring that has been overstressed, visibly deformed, or removed and re-installed multiple times. Follow applicable equipment manufacturer torque and assembly procedures for the surrounding components.
