The ROTOR CLIP E-12SS B100 is an external E style retaining ring designed to secure components on shafts in precision mechanical assemblies. It fits a 1/8 inch shaft diameter with a groove diameter of 0.095 inches and is manufactured from 15-7 grade 632 stainless steel conforming to AMS-5529 and UNS S15700. At 0.015 inches thick with a ring thickness tolerance of -0.002 to +0.002 inches, this ring delivers tight dimensional control for applications where reliability under vibration or repeated cycling is required. It is installed and serviced by mechanical assemblers, maintenance technicians, and precision equipment builders working across industrial, medical device, and commercial equipment sectors.
This retaining ring is suited for use in small-shaft applications where corrosion resistance and material certification matter. Common installation scenarios include medical instruments, fluid handling equipment, pumps, valves, and precision rotating assemblies. The 15-7 stainless steel construction resists oxidation and mild chemical exposure. With a free outside diameter of 0.23 inches and a groove width of 0.020 inches, it seats cleanly in standard E style grooves without modification. Installation and removal of E style retaining rings requires appropriate snap ring pliers or an E ring installation tool sized for this ring diameter; do not use flat-blade screwdrivers or improvised tools, as these can deform the ring or cause it to snap free at high velocity. Shut down and de-energize all rotating equipment before servicing shaft-mounted components. Inspect the shaft groove for burrs or dimensional non-conformance before seating the ring. Proper seating in all three prong positions should be confirmed visually before returning the assembly to service.
