The ROTOR CLIP DSH-4ST PD B100 is a metric external retaining ring designed for 4 mm shaft diameters with a 3.8 mm groove diameter. Made from 1060-1090 spring steel and finished with a phosphate and oil coating, this ring seats into a precision-cut external groove to retain components on a shaft against axial movement. Ring thickness is 0.40 mm and groove width is 0.50 mm. It meets DIN 471 and SAE 1060-1090 fastener standards. Licensed tradespeople, machinists, and maintenance technicians install these rings in mechanical assemblies where reliable axial retention is required in compact, metric-dimensioned shafts.
This retaining ring is suited for light-duty mechanical assemblies, precision instruments, small motors, and industrial equipment using metric shafting. Installation requires the correct size external snap ring pliers to spread and seat the ring into the shaft groove without overstressing the ring. Power down and de-energize any equipment before servicing components on the shaft. Inspect the groove dimensions for compliance with DIN 471 tolerances before installation to ensure proper seating and retention force. Do not reuse retaining rings that have been removed, as repeated spreading can compromise their retention capacity.
