The ROTOR CLIP DE-4SS is a metric external retaining ring designed to seat in a precision groove on the outside of a shaft, locking components axially in place without the need for threading or welding. Manufactured from 420 grade spring steel stainless steel with a phosphate and oil finish, this ring delivers corrosion resistance alongside the spring-back retention needed for reliable fastening. The ring measures 0.71 mm in thickness and is engineered to fit a 6 mm shaft diameter with a 4 mm groove diameter. Three prongs distribute retention force evenly around the groove. Licensed technicians and maintenance mechanics in HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical assembly routinely use this style of retaining ring in shaft and bearing applications.
The DE-4SS is suited for light-duty shaft retention in metric assemblies where a small-diameter external ring is required. Its DIN 6799 and SAE 1060-1090 compliance makes it appropriate for use in precision equipment, pump shafts, motor assemblies, and similar applications found in residential and commercial mechanical systems. The ISO 13485:2015 standard alignment also positions this ring for use in equipment where documented quality management is required. Package quantity is 5 rings per order.
Designed as an OEM-style external retaining ring for metric shaft assemblies requiring DIN 6799-compliant groove dimensions with a 6 mm shaft diameter and 4 mm groove diameter.
This retaining ring is installed and removed by a qualified mechanic using appropriate external snap ring pliers sized for the ring diameter. Always power down or de-energize the equipment and relieve any system pressure before disassembling shaft assemblies. Do not over-expand the ring during installation, as this can compromise spring tension and retention performance. Follow applicable equipment manufacturer procedures and relevant mechanical codes when servicing shaft components.
