The ROBERT BOSCH TOOL GROUP NKST12 is a short auger bit designed for wood drilling in applications where nails are present. Part of the Daredevil Nailkiller series, it measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 4-inch flute length and 7.5 inches overall length. The dual cutting edges balance nail cutting with consistent drilling, while the open-faced flute clears chips efficiently. A reinforced tip handles repeated nail contact without degrading performance. Licensed electricians, carpenters, and rough-in trades install this bit when boring through framing lumber that may contain embedded fasteners.
This short auger bit is suited for residential and light commercial rough-in work, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC penetrations through wood framing. Its compact 7.5-inch overall length makes it practical in tight spaces where a full-length auger would be difficult to maneuver. The reamer edge improves entry and exit hole quality, reducing tearout on both faces of the workpiece. The 7/16-inch hex shank seats securely in standard chuck and quick-change systems used on most cordless and corded drills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement-grade short auger bit for use in wood framing applications with any corded or cordless drill accepting a 7/16-inch hex shank.
This bit is installed by carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians performing rough-in boring through wood framing. Confirm the drill chuck is fully seated and locked onto the hex shank before operation. When boring through material that may contain nails or staples, reduce feed pressure to allow the reinforced tip and dual cutting edges to manage the contact. Follow applicable NEC, IPC, or IFGC clearance requirements for the trade penetration being made.
