The ROBBJACK T12-403-08 is a solid carbide square end mill from the T12-403 series, designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 5/16 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. With 4 flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. The stub length configuration and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it well-suited for applications where rigidity and close-tolerance milling are priorities. This end mill is uncoated and centercutting, allowing both peripheral and plunge cutting. It is rated under the Tuffy material grade, indicating toughness for demanding cuts.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where precise slotting, profiling, and pocketing are required. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry is standard for conventional mill spindle setups. Its stub length and solid carbide construction make it appropriate for short-reach finish and semi-finish operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, toolrooms, and production environments will find this end mill applicable to a wide range of common milling tasks.
Designed as a standard replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the ROBBJACK T12-403 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the cut. Follow shop safety protocols and machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speeds and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
