The ROBBJACK T12-203-06 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Part of the T12-203 series, it features a 3/16 inch cutting diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. The two-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during cutting. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It ships uncoated and carries RobbJack's Tuffy material grade designation, which targets general-purpose carbide performance. Machinists and tool-and-die shops are the primary users of this end mill.
The T12-203-06 is suited for slot milling, profiling, and pocket work on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Its 2-1/2 inch overall length and regular-length classification make it a standard reach tool appropriate for most conventional setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation conform to the most common spindle configurations. The uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for applications where a coated tool is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated.
Designed as a standard straight-shank end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders configured for a 3/8 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth-of-cut or feed parameters for the material being machined.
