The ROBBJACK ST-434-16-A is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 0.5-inch diameter and a 1-inch length of cut, this single-end tool operates on a 30-degree helix angle and carries four right-hand flutes for efficient chip evacuation. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic materials. At 3 inches overall length and a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank, this mill fits standard toolholders and is suited for both roughing and finishing passes where a 45-degree chamfer profile with a 0.006-inch chamfer length is required.
The ST-434-16-A is designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight chamfer geometry is needed on ferrous workpieces. Its AlTiN coating and solid carbide substrate make it well matched to dry or semi-dry cutting environments. The series is intended for side milling operations and can handle a range of cut depths within its rated length of cut. Machinists working in job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, or precision fabrication will find this tool suited to applications requiring consistent corner chamfer profiles across production runs.
Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S). Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application tool within the ROBBJACK ST-434 series for standard 0.5-inch straight-shank toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Confirm shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0002 inches is within the acceptable range for your collet or end mill holder before mounting. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Do not use this end mill for plunge cutting, as the centercutting designation is listed as No.
