The ROBBJACK ST-341-12-C is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for precision chamfering, slotting, side milling, helical interpolation, and ramping operations. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and three helical flutes with a 40-degree helix angle. The cutting edge carries a 45-degree chamfer angle with a chamfer width ranging from 0.0050 to 0.0070 inches. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) PVD coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop settings.
The ST-341-12-C is suited for both roughing and finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Its stub-length geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it a practical choice for applications where rigidity and minimal runout are priorities. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The single-end configuration and normal pitch keep chip evacuation consistent across typical feed and speed ranges for the listed workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner chamfer end mill in the ROBBJACK ST-341 series, suitable for CNC machining centers using 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank toolholders.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a compatible 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder. Confirm shank runout is within machine tolerance before engaging the cut, as carbide tooling is sensitive to lateral loading from excessive runout. This tool is not centercutting - do not use direct axial plunge as an entry move; use helical or ramp entry paths instead. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and apply cutting fluid or coolant as required by the material and operation.
