The ROBBJACK SS-2-059 is a solid carbide square end mill built for precision cutting in demanding machining applications. With a 0.059-inch cutting diameter and a 0.0885-inch length of cut, this stub-length tool is designed for tight-tolerance work where rigidity and runout control are critical. The two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation in a variety of materials. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and ER toolholders common in CNC and manual milling setups. Machined from ROBBJACK Tuffy-grade solid carbide, this uncoated end mill delivers consistent performance in non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites.
The SS-2-059 is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge-capable milling passes in small-feature work. Its stub length and 1.5-inch overall length minimize deflection and improve surface finish in close-quarters cuts. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This tool is typically used by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on molds, fixtures, and precision components where small-diameter accuracy is essential. The 30-degree helix angle balances cutting force and chip flow across a range of feed-and-speed conditions.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8-inch collet or chuck toolholding. Part of the ROBBJACK SS-2 series of small-diameter solid carbide square end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet. Verify collet size matches the 1/8-inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the correct gage length before tightening. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended runout tolerance for small-diameter carbide tooling, as excessive runout will cause premature chipping or breakage.
