The ROBBJACK SR-2-060 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding shop environments. Part of the SR-2 Series, this tool features a 0.060-inch cutting diameter and a 0.180-inch length of cut, making it well-suited for fine detail work in tight geometries. The 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute design promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 1.500 inches overall length with a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank, it mounts in standard collet systems. Machinists and toolroom operators working in aerospace, mold making, or precision component production typically run this tool on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The SR-2-060 is intended for use in applications requiring small-diameter end milling, slotting, and profiling. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling operations on CNC and manual equipment. The uncoated solid carbide construction in the Tuffy material grade makes it a reliable choice for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating is not required or where re-sharpening is planned.
Designed as an OEM-style production end mill for use in standard collet tool holders accepting a 0.125-inch straight shank, compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with ER or precision collet systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the collet holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the collet to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish.
