The ROBBJACK SR-2-010 is a miniature square end mill engineered for precision micro-machining applications. Built from solid carbide in the Tuffy material grade, this single-end tool features a 0.01-inch cutting diameter with a 1/32-inch (0.03-inch) length of cut and a 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. The 2-flute spiral geometry delivers efficient chip evacuation in tight pockets and slots at small scales. At 1.5 inches overall length, it is compact and rigid. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC milling setups. This tool is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in precision shops install and run this class of tooling.
The SR-2-010 is suited for micro-slot milling, fine-detail profiling, and engraving operations in materials where a small-diameter solid carbide tool provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for accurate results. Typical applications include electronics component machining, mold and die detail work, medical device components, and other precision parts requiring sub-0.1-inch features. The uncoated finish makes this tool appropriate for non-ferrous metals, plastics, graphite, and similar materials where a bare carbide edge performs well. The regular length type keeps deflection minimal at this diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill in the ROBBJACK SR-2 series, compatible with standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles used for micro-machining.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or powered-down state. Use a precision collet or shrink-fit holder sized for the 1/8-inch shank to ensure concentricity - runout directly affects tool life and feature accuracy at this diameter. Torque the collet nut according to the tool-holder manufacturer specification; do not over-tighten. At 0.01-inch diameter, feed rates and depth of cut must be dialed in carefully to avoid tool breakage; verify toolpath parameters before first cut.
