The ROBBJACK GM-402-01 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Measuring 0.0313 inches in cutting diameter with a 5/32-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length, this tool is built for fine detail work, slotting, and profiling in tight geometries. The four-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The diamond finish coating enhances wear resistance and reduces friction at the cutting edge. This end mill is installed and operated by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with precision milling equipment.
The GM-402-01 is suited for residential and commercial machine shop environments where micro-diameter end milling is required. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling, making it practical for pocketing and contour operations. The extended reach design, with a 1/4-inch reach length, provides access in deeper cavities or stepped workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.1250 inches diameter fits standard collet systems. This tool is appropriate for use on aluminum, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similarly machinable materials consistent with a C2 carbide material grade.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank collet holders within the GM-402 series.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet to the recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. At micro diameters, use conservative feed rates and spindle speeds to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
