The ROBBJACK C8-201-08 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Measuring 0.250 inches in diameter with a 0.500-inch length of cut and a 2.000-inch overall length, this stub-length tool delivers rigid, chatter-resistant performance in shallow-to-moderate depth cuts. The 2-flute, spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, making it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for right-hand cut, right-hand flute applications on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The stub-length design reduces overhang for improved rigidity when working in tight setups or on harder workpiece materials. The uncoated C2-grade solid carbide construction is appropriate for use on non-ferrous metals, plastics, and general-purpose ferrous materials where a coated tool is not required. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders with 1/4-inch bore.
Designed for use with standard 1/4-inch bore collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Part of the ROBBJACK Series C8-201 stub-length square end mill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates carbide edge wear and reduces surface finish quality.
