The ROBBJACK C17-0400-16-36 is a solid carbide slitting and slotting saw designed for precision cutting operations on a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. The blade measures 1.75 inches in diameter and 0.04 inches thick, with 36 straight teeth and a 5-degree rake angle. The concave-ground tooth profile reduces side friction during slotting passes, helping maintain dimensional accuracy in tight-tolerance cuts. This saw mounts via arbor connection and runs in a right-hand cutting direction. It ships bright and uncoated, making it suitable for applications where coating buildup in thin kerfs would be a concern. Machinists and toolroom operators working on milling machines or machining centers are the primary users.
This saw is built for demanding material applications including cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, super alloys, and titanium. Its solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed when slotting hard or abrasive materials where high-speed steel tooling falls short. The 0.04-inch blade thickness makes it well suited for narrow-kerf slotting, parting operations, and undercutting tasks on vertical or horizontal milling setups. The Series C designation places this tool within ROBBJACK's standard slitting saw line.
Designed for arbor-mount slitting saw applications on vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers where a 1.75-inch diameter, 0.04-inch thick solid carbide slotting saw is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom safety procedures. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the saw. The arbor, spacers, and retaining nut should be inspected for damage and confirmed to proper torque specifications per the arbor manufacturer before operation. Solid carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side loading or interrupted cuts beyond the tool's rated material application.
