On installation, the mandrel causes the rivet body to peel back into multiple legs, spreading load over a larger surface area. With a tensile strength of 325 pounds and a shear strength of 324 pounds, this rivet is suited for structural and semi-structural fastening tasks where conventional rivets may not hold adequately.
