The RIVETKING ABS46/P500 is a Size 46 open end blind rivet designed for one-sided fastening applications where access to the back of the work surface is limited or impossible. The rivet features an aluminum body in alloy grade 5056 with a steel mandrel, producing a reliable mechanical connection in sheet metal, HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, and light structural assemblies. The dome head profile sits at 0.25 inches in diameter and 0.04 inches in height, keeping a low, finished appearance. Body diameter is 0.125 inches with a grip range of 0.313 to 0.375 inches. Each package contains 500 rivets and weighs 1.3 pounds.
This rivet is suited for residential and commercial trade applications including HVAC duct fabrication, sheet metal work, electrical panel assembly, and plumbing fixture mounting. The 0.25-inch dome head and 0.125-inch body diameter make it a practical fastener for thin-gauge aluminum and steel stack-ups. A tensile strength of 220 pounds and shear strength of 170 pounds make it appropriate for light-duty structural and mechanical connections. The open end design allows the mandrel stem to break cleanly during installation, leaving a finished pull-through appearance.
Designed for use in any application requiring a Size 46 open end blind rivet with a 0.125-inch body diameter. Requires a drilled or punched hole sized to Number 30 wire gauge drill, with a minimum hole diameter of 0.129 inches and a maximum of 0.133 inches.
Installation requires a standard hand, pneumatic, or battery-powered rivet puller sized for 0.125-inch body rivets. Drill or punch the hole to the correct diameter before insertion to avoid rivet body distortion. Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and properly aligned before pulling the mandrel. Follow applicable codes for the trade involved, including SMACNA standards for duct fabrication or NEC requirements when fastening within electrical enclosures.
