The RIVETKING 18N62RFLSP is a countersunk solid rivet designed for permanent mechanical fastening applications where a flush or near-flush finished surface is required. Machined from uncoated steel, this rivet features a 90-degree countersunk head angle and a 3/16-inch body diameter with a 5/8-inch length under the head. Solid rivets require a rivet set and bucking bar for proper installation, producing a strong, vibration-resistant joint. This type of fastener is a staple in structural assembly, sheet metal work, and equipment fabrication across multiple trades.
This solid rivet is suited for use in fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and field assembly tasks where a mechanically set, non-threaded fastener is needed. The countersunk head profile allows the rivet to sit flush with the workpiece surface, making it appropriate for panels, brackets, frames, and structural components where protruding fastener heads are not acceptable. It is commonly installed by sheet metal workers, maintenance technicians, and structural fabricators working in HVAC, equipment manufacturing, and general mechanical assembly.
Designed as a standard solid countersunk rivet suitable for use with compatible rivet sets and bucking bars sized for 3/16-inch body diameter rivets in sheet metal and structural fabrication applications.
Solid rivets must be installed by a technician using a rivet gun or hammer and an appropriate bucking bar and rivet set matched to the 3/16-inch shank diameter. Ensure the receiving material is properly drilled and deburred to the correct hole diameter before driving the rivet. Do not over-drive the shop head, as this can crack the rivet shank or distort the base material. Follow applicable structural or sheet metal fabrication standards for joint design and rivet spacing.
