The RITEN 91034 is a bull nose live center point machined from hardened tool steel for use in metal-turning lathes. It accepts both 2MT and 3MT taper shanks, making it compatible with a broad range of lathe tailstocks and live centers. The point diameter ranges from 7/8 inch to 1-3/4 inches, with an overall length of 1-3/16 inches. Rated to 5,000 RPM with an accuracy of 0.0003 inches, this point is suited for production and job-shop turning operations where a large-diameter, flat-faced support is needed on the workpiece end.
The bull nose profile supports hollow or tubular workpieces and large-diameter stock that a standard 60-degree point cannot adequately locate. It mounts directly into a compatible live center body seated in the lathe tailstock. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians install this point when the job calls for end-face support rather than a center-drilled seat. It is appropriate for both manual engine lathes and CNC turning centers equipped with a 2MT or 3MT tailstock spindle.
Designed for use with live centers that accept 2MT or 3MT taper-shank interchangeable points. Verify taper size and point-interface dimensions against the live center body before installation.
This point is installed by a machinist or lathe operator and requires no special tools beyond those standard to lathe setup. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before changing any tailstock tooling. Seat the taper fully and evenly into the live center body to prevent fretting or runout at speed. Inspect the taper shank and receiver for burrs or debris before seating.
