The RITEN 69103 is a carbide-tipped steel solid dead center designed for use in lathe tailstocks and machining fixtures where a stationary, non-rotating center point is required. Built to a 3MT (No. 3 Morse Taper) shank, it seats directly into compatible tailstocks and headstocks without adapters in most standard setups. The 69103 features a 1-1/4 inch head diameter and a carbide-tipped standard point with a tip diameter of 1.0000 inch, delivering exceptional wear resistance and holding accuracy to 0.00005 inch. Machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this type of center for turning operations where rigidity and point precision are critical.
This solid dead center is suited for manual and CNC lathe operations in production and job-shop environments. It is intended for use in applications where the workpiece rotates against the stationary center, making carbide tipping essential to resist heat and wear at the contact point. The 3MT shank makes it compatible with a wide range of mid-size lathes commonly found in industrial and precision machining shops. Installation is straightforward for any machinist working with Morse taper tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style solid dead center for lathes and machining fixtures equipped with a No. 3 Morse Taper tailstock or headstock bore.
Dead centers are installed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Before seating the center, ensure the tailstock bore and the 3MT shank are clean and free of chips, burrs, or oil to achieve full taper contact. Power down or disengage the machine spindle before inserting or removing the center. Because this is a solid dead center, proper lubrication at the workpiece contact point is required to minimize friction and prevent galling during rotation.
