The 1-inch standard point is through-hardened to 61-63 Rc for long service life. Three rows of sealed, life-lubricated bearings handle radial and thrust loads simultaneously, giving the unit a rated load capacity of 2,200 pounds. Accuracy is held to 0.0002 inch. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die workers on manual and CNC lathes.

The 44104 fits between-centers turning, facing, and cylindrical grinding operations where a rotating center is needed to support the tailstock end of a workpiece.
