The RHEEM 61-105025-07 is a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) designed for R-410A refrigerant systems in residential and light-commercial heat pump applications. The TXV meters refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil, maintaining proper superheat across a range of operating conditions. Rated for 3.5 to 5 ton systems, it uses 3/8 inch soldered inlet and 3/8 inch soldered outlet connections. This valve is a factory-specification replacement component installed by licensed HVAC technicians during system commissioning, refrigerant circuit service, or coil replacement work.
This valve is specified for use on RHEEM RP14 series heat pumps in the 3.5 to 5 ton capacity range. It is suited to split-system installations where the TXV is mounted at the indoor coil assembly. The soldered connection type requires a brazing setup and proper nitrogen purge during installation to prevent oxidation inside the refrigerant circuit.
Specified for use on RHEEM RP14 series heat pumps in the 3.5 to 5 ton range. Consult the equipment service manual and verify refrigerant circuit specifications before installation to confirm fitment with a specific unit serial and model number.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician. Recover all refrigerant from the system before opening the refrigerant circuit. Use dry nitrogen purge during brazing to prevent copper oxidation inside the valve and tubing. After installation, leak-test all braze joints, pull a deep vacuum to the equipment manufacturer specification, and recharge the system with R-410A to the nameplate charge before verifying superheat.
