The RH PETERSON CHAS-30 is a 7-piece hand-crafted refractory ceramic log set designed as a replacement for gas fireplaces using the Peterson G10-24/30 vent-free burner. Each log is hand-painted to replicate the look of real aged, charred, split oak wood. The set features the burn-through front log design, where visible embers appear through the split face of the front log, creating a realistic fire appearance. Smaller logs in the set carry a charred bark finish that adds depth to the overall look. These logs are manufactured to retain structural integrity at high operating temperatures, resisting chipping and breaking during long-term use.
The CHAS-30 log set is sized at 30 inches and was specifically engineered for use with the Peterson G10-24/30 vent-free burner. It is not a universal log set and must only be paired with its certified burner. The G10 burner is available with multiple valve configurations, including manual, millivolt with on/off remote and standing pilot, millivolt with variable flame remote and standing pilot, and variable flame remote with electronic ignition. This log set is suited for residential gas fireplace installations where a natural wood appearance is required without the emissions and maintenance associated with burning real wood.
The CHAS-30 is certified for use exclusively with the Peterson G10-24/30 vent-free burner. It is not compatible with other burner models or brands. Using this log set with a non-certified burner creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage.
Installation of vent-free gas log sets must be performed by a licensed gas technician in accordance with local codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Always shut off the gas supply at the appliance valve before positioning or repositioning any logs. Log placement must follow the certified burner diagram exactly — incorrect placement can affect combustion performance and safety. Do not operate the burner if any log shows signs of structural failure or excessive cracking.
